Flooding Streets South Beach Miami Beach Rising Waters
10-15-2016 South Beach
Sea level rise flooding Miami Beach tonite South Beach area west on Dade Blvd west of Alton road all the way to Purdy Avenue. Rising sea levels combined with evening showers and thunderstorms brought down one of the emergency water pumps that were installed to push ocean waters back to the canals.
Miami Beach crew workers working under severe weather quickly repaired the failed water pump. It was dark with the wind blowing water combined with rain showers you could only see their flashlights and reflective vests. City of Miami Beach workers continued working under the rain with winds and water levels reaching above their knees. Thank you for your dedicated service!
